About

I am a writer. Words drip from my inner soul onto paper.

I enjoy forming pictures in the heads of readers by my written words.

Other than writing, I enjoy reading, photography, traveling and decadent food. Fortunately, all those things go well together.

I am a native Texan, and a proud one at that. My  family arrived in the Lone Star state before the infamous battle of the Alamo in 1836 before Texas had formed their own republic. That may explain part of my love for Texas history. That and it had a vast and varied history that I find absolutely fascinating.  The more I know, the more I find there is to know and it always leaves me thirsting for more.

People usually share about their animals; far be it for me to buck tradition. I’ve had horses, goats, chickens, a cockatiel, geese, dogs, and ducks. I’ve even rescued a one-eyed pie-billed grebe. At one point, I threatened to hang out a sign that read: Wayward home for the lost, lonely and unwanted. Fortunately it never came to that, but suffice it to say I’ve rescued some animals. Things are much quieter these days with a rescued wire haired terrier and dachshund mix who is loyal and grateful, a Cavaton who thinks she is a diva, and an elderly black lab that believes he is still a puppy. Rounding out the animal ambassadors is a beautiful black and white cat that refuses to accept the fact that I am allergic since she adopted me.
